Also called “Chinese Yoga”, Qi Gong is a self-therapy often prescribed as a remedy by Chinese Doctors. What is Thai Massage? Traditional Thai massage is a healing art combining yoga postures and stretching, acupressure, reflexology, and energy work. In this class, we will practice giving & receiving a simple flowing sequence of ancient Thai massage. The primary focuses of Traditional Thai Massage are the practices of mindfulness, meditation and loving kindness. As touch sensitivity increases, the massage becomes artful and is a physical expression of emotion and spirit. As awareness of breath & energy increase, attention to the present moment is richer. Life force is activated for giver and receiver. Workshop includes: Centering, warm-ups, technique demonstration, and instruction, giving & receiving bodywork, meditation. Dress in comfortable warm clothing. Valerie Twomey, RN is a practitioner of Traditional Thai massage, is certified and has traveled in Thailand. Join Maureen Hammett as she guides students through 75 minutes of restorative yoga poses followed by a 45 minute full course organic buffet dinner of healthy and delicious cuisine! The yoga is for ALL Levels and will be loving and gentle and will include a series of postures, slow-flow, supported inversions, and twists. Deep relaxation and meditation will top off the practice. All to enhance digestion and boost the immune system. Then enjoy the sumptuous meal with new and old friends. Yoga is not only on the mat, it is a lifestyle as well. As with many, injury brought Maureen to yoga six years ago. Her quest still continues, as she not only teaches yoga but is also a faithful student. Certifications: Graduate from "Finding Inner Peace" Yoga School, Faculty of the Breathe Joy Yoga School, Barkan method: Hot Vinyasa Flow, Levels two and three, Yoga-Fit, and Intensive Yin, Anusura and Detox Workshops. To date, Maureen has over 375 Intensive Workshop Hours.

I understand how hard it is to take the time during the day to close the eyes and breathe and get to a
point where you can focus on the tasks at hand, and to go on with your day with more clarity.
Business, no matter what it is, by its very nature, induces stress at every stage which can build up tension,
and create complications in the body.
Recently, I ran an 8 week yoga series, one hour a week, after work, for a local business.
The Human Resources department and I coordinated this after a conversation regarding how
important it is for the company to offer more health related events at the place of business.
It was a success, and the employees loved getting the mind, body, soul workout,
right downstairs from their office. Many of them told me it's hard to get to our yoga studio sometimes
after they get out of work, especially on days they put in more hours.
