Yoga Etiquette
These rules of good yoga etiquette will help you feel comfortable when entering an unfamiliar setting. In order to create and maintain a pleasant environment for your yoga practice, we ask that you read and abide by the following policies:
1. Shoes are left out in the cubbies in lobby.
2. No pagers and cell phones in the yoga room.
3. Please try not to be late to class, it’s a disturbance to other students.
4. Modify where Needed
The teacher will offer you modifications based on your level, and also any limitations you may have. Please take the suggestions of the teachers, and listen to your own body when taking new classes.
5. Go to the Bathroom During Resting Poses
It is fine to leave class for a few minutes to go to the bathroom: There is no need to ask the teacher's permission. The best time to go is when there is a period of rest, either in Child's Pose or Downward Dog. You will not earn your teacher's respect if you routinely dodge out during difficult poses or skip part of Savasana.
6. No gum or food in the yoga room.
7. No perfume, cologne or body lotion while practicing, and please if you smoke, do not smoke cigarettes right before class. Some of the other students, may be allergic to cigarette smoke.
8. Respect and enjoy the silence of the yoga room before and after class.

Have you dreamed of teaching yoga?
Or do you just want to deepen your own understanding
and practice of yoga?
Join us for this in depth journey
into the foundations and
therapeutic applications of Hatha yoga.
Kind Yoga teacher training teaches "Hatha Yoga" - with a focus on "ahimsa
and karuna", attention to kindness and compassion with the self and others.
It is not a "new" style of yoga. Patanjalis Sutras, a 2000 year old text on yoga, describes "Ahimsa" as the first yama on the eight fold path. Developing a compassionate attitude is a good place to begin with the study of hatha yoga.
We consider the attitude of compassion the first "alignment principle" For more information click here.
What People Are Saying about Kind Yoga Teacher Training
"Over the last 26 years I have watched yoga unfortunately becoming a Type A commodity. I have witnessed many injuries happening in the name of yoga. My colleague Diane Kovanda has created a miracle on Cape Cod: Kind Yoga
Teacher Training: my dream come true.
Diane Kovanda's Kind Yoga Teacher Training is everything I would want in a training. If I was a new student in yoga or a yoga trainee today, Kind Yoga
would be my practice and Diane would be my teacher. Why? Because Diane understands compassion, she is METTA, loving kindness.
Diane's training is brilliant, her teaching methods are delightful: a combination
of intelligence, passion, caring, understanding. She invites wonderful visiting teachers to round out the curriculum, such as Dr Kumara Sidhartha.
The trainees truly get a remarkable 200 hour teacher training.
I could NOT be happier for Cape Cod. I could not be happier for the yoga community. Diane Kovanda's Kind Yoga is a gem."

"Diane simply creates a community of people being present to an incredible, kind, sacred
safe space of practicing ones individual personal hatha yoga experience, following her
unique, & loving guidance. While participating in a supportive "community" beyond
compare, just what the world needs more of ... to be welcomed on our own two bare feet,
get to "see" them & perhaps get to "know" them ... once again. Wow!"

Introducing Corporate Yoga
We would love the opportunity to provide your office a special service. We have a program called Yoga2Go where we send certified, experienced yoga teachers out to local businesses and schools. We have already started to go out to some local companies with great success. They loved the convenience of not having to leave work for their exercise.
What we will provide:
* 8 or 10 week sessions of Yoga Instruction
* Music, mats and other props as needed
* A fully qualified instructor
* A program customized to your staff
You provide:
* Participants
* Space in your office for a yoga class
* 75 minutes for yoga class and relaxation at the end or beginning of the day
I understand how hard it is to take the time during the day to close the eyes and breathe and get to a point where you can focus on the tasks at hand, and to go on with your day with more clarity. Business, no matter what it is, by its very nature, induces stress at every stage which can build up tension, and create complications in the body.
Recently, I ran an 8 week yoga series, one hour a week, after work, for a local business. The Human Resources department and I coordinated this after a conversation regarding how important it is for the company to offer more health related events at the place of business. It was a success, and the employees loved getting the mind, body, soul workout, right downstairs from their office. Many of them told me it's hard to get to our yoga studio sometimes after they get out of work, especially on days they put in more hours.
I am available via email at centervillewellness@yahoo.com or by phone Wednesday through Friday at 508 775 1422. Please do not hesitate to call with any questions.
Be well,
Annika Iliadis
