Mary Catherine Starr
Although Mary Catherine was first introduced to yoga in high school, it didn’t become a part of her life until she moved to New York and began searching for a new physical activity after suffering from a running injury. Quickly after re-discovering yoga, she realized that it is much more than a “physical activity” and began practicing regularly; It has been an integral part of her life ever since. Mary Catherine, E-RYT 500, completed both her 200-hour and 500-hour trainings at Tranquil Space in Washington, DC.
Mary Catherine’s teaching style has been described as sunny, encouraging, and inclusive. She invites her students to truly listen to their bodies while practicing, as she believes that the modern-day individual tends to ignore his or her body until it screams out for attention.
