CYT 200

Melanie manages and teaches occasionally for the Centerville Yoga & Wellness Center, which is owned by her mother, Karen. She began teaching yoga eight years ago at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she attended college and was the first student yoga teacher featured at the Campus Recreation Center. Melanie's teaching is lighthearted and warm, and she encourages her students to move with mindfulness, creativity and curiosity. Melanie's yoga practice and teaching are inspired by Ame Wren, Rodney Yee, Eric Burri, and the teachings of Jon Kabat Zinn, as well as many others.

Melanie is currently taking a long-term hiatus from a regular teaching schedule while she focuses on her full time job as a registered nurse in Boston and full time studies in Northeastern University's masters of nursing/nurse practitioner program. She lives in Jamaica Plain and likes to explore the Arnold Arboretum and practice with Boston's many talented yoga instructors. She enjoys being outside, dancing, playing in the waves, and new adventures.
